We’re a salon so of course we’re in business to keep our clients looking fresh. Interestingly though, clients tell me they recommend me because I look and act surprisingly normal and am relatable. They tell me that hairdressers with wild hair and personalities can be intimidating and make them fear they’ll walk out looking radically different.

I’m a simple person. I believe strongly that every client has something beautiful that only needs enhancing. It’s my job, our team’s job at Salon Aspire, to listen and pay attention, to truly get to know and care about the individuals we serve.

I keep cards from my clients because they keep me going and remind me why I do what I do. One of my favorite cards is from a client who had very curly, textured hair. We found a style for her that caused her to write that for the first time in her life she wasn’t embarrassed. She was proud of her hair. That meant a lot to me.
